Racing Heavyweights (working title) is a racing story following an underdog, family-run team racing in the British Truck Racing Championship, which races 110 mile-per-hour, 5-tonne machines around historical tracks in the UK. Joined by a small battalion of volunteer mechanics, Simon Cole, a veteran truck racing driver gunning for the title after just falling short last season, and his 19-year-old son Archie Handy, one of youngest racing drivers race in the series, race to bring the team to glory. The film will show an insight into team dynamics in the run-up to the races around the UK, long hours after incidents on track, coupled with talking heads describing their motivations at their base in the countryside of Kent.
